Multi-stemmed shrub or small tree up to 5 m, with slender, smooth, wrinkled branches often covered in glandular hairs. Leaves roundish to triangular, 4 – 20 cm, velvety above and silvery or greyish white beneath, with roundly toothed margins and 5 – 7 prominent veins. Velvety buds open to white flowers with deep pink centers (Dec – May), in hairy-stalked bunches in upper leaf axils. Fruit is a capsule covered with dense yellowish hairs.
